Frequently asked questions

Honest answers about what this course is, what it isn't, and how it works.

What exactly is this course?

An adaptive, AI-native ground school that prepares you for the FAA Private Pilot knowledge (written) test. It includes original lessons, unlimited practice questions, realistic mock exams, and a grounded AI instructor.

Is the completion certificate an FAA pilot certificate or license?

No. Our certificate is a course-completion certificate. It is not an FAA pilot certificate, rating, endorsement, or knowledge-test authorization. Only the FAA issues pilot certificates, and flight training with a certified instructor is required to become a pilot.

What does the course not do?

It does not provide flight instruction, log flight time, issue endorsements, or authorize you to take the FAA test. It is study material to help you learn the knowledge areas. Always work with a certified flight instructor for training and authorizations.

How does the AI instructor stay accurate?

It is retrieval-grounded: it answers only from the approved study material and shows citations for what it says. It is not a general chatbot and is never treated as an authoritative aviation source.

Will the AI answer anything I ask?

No — and that is by design. It refuses real-time operational questions (like in-flight decisions or current weather/NOTAMs) and medical questions, directing you to current official FAA sources, ATC, an aviation medical examiner, or your instructor instead of guessing.

What does "adaptive learning" mean here?

Every answer updates a per-objective estimate of what you know. The course sequences your weak areas first, compresses what you already know, and schedules spaced review before knowledge fades — so the plan is shaped around you, not a fixed playlist.

How do the mock exams work?

Mock exams are full-length, realistic practice tests drawn from the knowledge areas, with explanations and citations on every question. They estimate readiness before you sit the real FAA test.

Is the course accessible?

Accessibility is a priority. We target WCAG 2.2 Level AA: semantic structure, keyboard navigation, sufficient contrast, and respect for reduced-motion preferences. A full manual and assistive-technology audit is still pending — see our accessibility statement.

How much does it cost?

The course is free — every lesson, the AI instructor, unlimited practice, and mock exams, with no subscription and no card required. A verifiable Certificate of Completion is an optional one-time $99 when you finish; you can complete everything for free without it. Compare it with traditional video courses on the pricing page.

Do you guarantee I will pass?

No. No course can guarantee passage of an independent FAA exam. We are designing a conditional refund pass-guarantee with clear eligibility rules — it is proposed and pending legal review, not a promise of passing. See the guarantee page.

What is your refund policy?

Refund mechanics are described in our refund policy, which is currently a draft pending legal review. Any pass-guarantee refund would follow the eligibility rules on the guarantee page.

Is the current content final and reviewed?

Not yet. Current content is draft and requires certified-flight-instructor review before it is treated as reliable. Always confirm against current official FAA publications. See safety & accuracy.

Reminder: a course-completion certificate is not an FAA pilot certificate. Content is draft pending CFI review and is not an authoritative aviation source.
