Module 5: Flight Instruments and Avionics

Explain the pitot-static instruments and their blockage failures, the altimeter and altimeter setting, gyroscopic instruments, magnetic compass turning and acceleration errors, glass cockpit and PFD concepts, transponder modes and codes, GPS/RNAV basics, and basic instrument maneuvers — controlling the airplane by reference to the instruments (the four fundamentals, the cross-check, and standard-rate turns) and the spatial-disorientation reason for trusting them.
